Do You Get Enough Omega 3 Through Your Diet Alone?

Did you know approximately 70% of the fats in our brain are omega 3? So it wouldn’t be any surprise to you that omega 3s improve various brain functions such as your learning capacity, mood and focus. So if we’re going off of the age old saying “You are what you eat” (or thousands of medical literature) than would it be safe to say that it could be a good idea to consume an optimal amount omega 3s from your diet? Omega 3s are not just important for brain function, memory and focus. They are also important for almost every function in your body, from skin quality to heart health – to your overall sense of wellbeing and libido. Just make sure you’re getting in enough omega 3 fats, okay?
Right, so we’ve talked about the difference between Pharmaceutical Grade GMP’s and Food Grade GMP’s. Now this goes for ALL products – Not just multivitamins. Omega 3s are found in abundance in Wild Salmon, Shrimp, Walnuts and Chia Seeds; however getting enough from your diet can sometimes be difficult. For example, to get an optimal dose of omega 3 you would be looking at consuming 100g of Wild Atlantic Salmon or 18grams of Walnuts daily. So if you can’t see yourself consuming those quantities on a regular basis then it could be wise to look for a quality fish oil supplement.
Again, do your research and make sure you’re picking one that is molecular distilled and free of any PCB’s or toxic contaminants such as mercury.

When people look at you, your teeth are what they see. Therefore it is smart to have them in pristine condition. This article is full of tips that will help your teeth look better than they ever have.

If you are 50 or older, use non-alcohol mouthwashes. The gums and mouth of older adults are often sensitive, and this can be made worse by the alcohol’s tendency to burn and sting. That’s why it’s good to use an alcohol-free mouthwash that contains fluoride. Use it twice daily for good results.

Don’t eat a lot of acidic or sugary foods. These types of foods can damage teeth. If you do eat these foods, have them with a meal and plenty of water. Brushing your teeth immediately afterward is important, and will help stop the deterioration.

Eat what are known as detergent foods. These are foods that naturally clean your mouth as you eat them. Apples are the most famous example. Other choices include raw carrots, celery and popcorn. Ending a meal with a detergent food is a great way for your mouth to end the eating cleaner.

Avoid snacking on carbs if possible. Potato chips and other salty snacks will not be easy to remove from your teeth. If you need to have a snack, choose some fruits or another healthy food. Clean your teeth immediately afterward if you can, or plan on spending more time flossing later.

Practice flossing with your eyes closed shut. It can take days or even weeks to master this, and there is no real need to rush. The advantage is that once you master this, you can floss anytime and anywhere. Flossing could be something you can do without a mirror, on the road or in the office.

At a minimum, you should floss once daily for good oral health. Flossing really makes a difference. Use the floss to dislodge leftover pieces of food that have become stuck in between your teeth. Move the floss backwards and forwards. The floss should be near the gum line, not under your gums. Carefully make the floss go back and forth to clean every tooth.

In order to save tooth enamel, refrain from brushing too hard and select a soft or medium bristle toothbrush. Brushing too hard can actually wear down tooth enamel and once the enamel is gone, it cannot be replaced! Using a hard bristle brush also can be detrimental to the enamel. Using the proper brush and technique can go a long way in preserving your tooth enamel.

As you floss, focus on just one tooth before turning your attention to the next one. Work the floss down to your gum line and then carefully pull it back up to get rid of any plaque that has accumulated. In a back-and-forth motion, rub the floss so that it cleans the tooth well.

As mentioned, your teeth are one of the first things people notice. You need to make sure your teeth are a positive representation of yourself. Use these tips to have your teeth looking even better than you hoped!…
