It empowers individuals to view food as a source of both nourishment and preventive medicine.

Promoting Healthy Eating Habits: Practical Tips for Individuals

One of the primary objectives of nutrition education is to promote healthy eating habits. This includes understanding portion control, incorporating a variety of fruits and vegetables, choosing whole grains, and balancing macronutrients. Education provides practical tips that individuals can integrate into their daily lives, fostering habits that contribute to long-term well-being.

Nutrition education guides individuals in decoding these labels, enabling them to assess the nutritional content of packaged foods. This knowledge empowers consumers to choose products aligned with their dietary goals and preferences.

Dietary Guidelines: Translating Recommendations into Action

Nutrition education often aligns with established dietary guidelines that offer recommendations for healthy eating. These guidelines, tailored to specific populations, serve as roadmaps for individuals seeking to improve their diet. Education transforms these recommendations into actionable steps, making healthy eating accessible and achievable for everyone.

Addressing Dietary Myths: Separating Fact from Fiction

In a world filled with dietary myths and misinformation, nutrition education serves as a reliable source of evidence-based information. It equips individuals with the skills to discern between nutrition facts and fads, enabling them to make choices based on scientific evidence rather than popular trends.

Specialized Nutrition Education: Tailoring Knowledge to Individual Needs

Beyond general dietary guidelines, nutrition education can be specialized to address individual needs. This includes considerations for different life stages, dietary restrictions, or health conditions. Tailoring nutrition education ensures that individuals receive personalized guidance that aligns with their unique circumstances and goals.

Cheap Dental Insurance – How to Get Free Or Cut Price Dental Care

Those on tight budgets are used to cutting back on necessary expenditure, and certain costly activities, such as the monthly dental check-up, may fall by the wayside, at least until something goes wrong and can no longer be easily ignored. However, finding an affordable dental practitioner can be an extremely tricky business, especially for those on low incomes, the elderly, disabled and those without dental insurance and access to credit. The current economic climate, which has seen thousands lose their jobs-and their insurance-has exacerbated the problem.
Fortunately, there are a number of ways in which you can seek out cut-price, or even free dental care. One way is to contact the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR), who sometimes look for volunteers to take part in clinical trials related to dental or oral conditions.
There are also programmes offered by many health and social service agencies that provide free dental treatments for stricken patients unable to meet the cost of treatment. The dental healthcare professionals that work in these programmes volunteer their time and services for free, and are fully qualified.
You can also look investigate options through the American Dental Association, who will have a complete list of all dental schools in the US. Often, dental schools, as well as teaching hospitals and local universities provide what is known as ‘sliding-scale services’. This means that treatment can be received for a much lower, reduced fee. Look also for local community options, as some dentists will provide cut-price services in your area, and will sometimes provide treatment for free. As previously mentioned, many dentists also donate their time and services through various organisations to provide low-cost or free dental care, so be sure to keep an eye out for any such events in your area. Organisations such as Dentistry From the Heart and the Mission of Mercy dental clinic provide such services-and often for free- to the unemployed and otherwise uninsured.
For those who don’t qualify for free care, services and treatments are often provided at a fraction of the normal cost-and this can be as much as 1/10th of the usual cost of treatment. Check out the organisations online [] and look for upcoming events in your area.…

Masculine Face Care: We’re Talking Bill Gates, Not Justin Bieber

Guys who think masculine face care is about making women swoon are missing the point. Looking good is about getting ahead of the competition. It’s about being primed and ready to take advantage of every opportunity life has to offer.
Guys, I don’t blame you for thinking that men’s skincare and anti-aging is about getting the girl. In fact, it’s to be expected. When it comes to masculine face care, a multi-billion-dollar industry is pushing the idea that great skin is a playboy’s secret weapon. They know that sex sells, which is why the product shelves are full of overpowering aftershaves with alluring and exotic names-and why the ads are full of chiseled hunks with a pair of eye candy on each arm.
As a reasonably foxy lady myself, you can take it from me: great skin is a definite plus, but it sure doesn’t clinch the deal. And if you see masculine face care as a way to make yourself irresistible to women, you’re just not seeing the real potential in having a proper masculine face care routine-or in yourself.
The Gates – Bieber Smack-Down
Answer me honestly. Would you rather model your ambitions on Justin Bieber, or Bill Gates? In other words, do you want to be known for your dazzling good looks, or admired for your substance? The Beauty Industry might be surprised to know that most masculine men, although they’re tempted by the prospect of obsessive female fans stalking them at every turn, are more interested in projecting a powerful image that commands respect and gives them that invaluable edge in an ultra competitive world.
Now, Bill Gates may not be the ideal poster boy for masculine face care, but he does epitomize the competitive spirit that seizes every opportunity to create success – that’s success with a capital “S,” the kind that goes beyond clubbing women into submission with an exotic scent, and sets you up for real and lasting achievement.
That desire to grasp success with both hands and by any means necessary-and not the desire to win fleeting admiration from the opposite sex-is the true essence of proper masculine face care.
What does well-tended skin have to do with success? Read on.
Why “skin-deep” is deeper than you think
“Skin deep” may have come to mean “superficial” and “unimportant”, but those skin-deep first impressions have profound implications for your life’s trajectory. A recent study published in the Journal of Applied Psychology revealed that looks play a role in determining business success and earning power. Essentially, good grooming and attention to appearances can pay off big-time. They lead to bigger responsibilities, faster promotions and bigger paychecks. Maybe it’s not fair that “the skin you’re in” can affect the course of your destiny, but it’s a fact that’s beyond your control. What you choose to do with this information, on the other hand, is very much in your control. You can dig your heels in and keep doing what you’re doing, or you can game the system by doing everything in your power to gain a competitive advantage. Ask yourself: if there is something you can do that will definitely and without question enhance your chances of success – in work and love, why the heck wouldn’t you do it?
Confidence now comes in a bottle
No, I’m not talking about “liquid courage” here, guys. But confidence actually can come out of a bottle. The fact is, using the right masculine face care products to look good actually effects a change in your outlook and attitude. Studies show that there is a direct correlation between how you look and the confidence you project. And confidence, like good looks, exerts an elusive but undeniable influence on the people around you. People like your boss, potential employers, investors and colleagues. And yes, people like… well, women. A man who exudes confidence is very, very sexy… Confidence simply opens more opportunities to you – professionally and socially.
This kind of masculine face care routine doesn’t have to take up much time or clutter your bathroom cabinet with umpteen lotions and potions, tubes and jars. We’re talking cleaning, lubricating and protecting. Three simple steps. No fuss. No muss. And no overpowering, three-alarm musky perfumes. Just a simple routine and healthier, better-looking skin.
Of course, it’s ultimately up to you. You can follow in the footsteps of Bill Gates, a man who seized every opportunity and became one of the wealthiest and most powerful philanthropist in the world…
Or you can emulate the pop sensation whose quotable quotes run to stuff like this: “I like girls chasing me, so it’s good. I’m kind of like The Beatles running, and there’s girls chasing after me.”
Masculine men play to win – model yourself after Bill Gates.…

My Relationship to Food

Last week I realized that some of my CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) vegetables had come to the end of their life before I could use them all. It was a sad day when I had to throw out some things that I fully intended to eat and didn’t. No excuses. I just had not made time to prepare all my veggies. Even if I couldn’t eat all of them in a week, I certainly could have thrown together a pot of soup and frozen it.
Physician, heal thyself! I’ve kind of lost touch with my food and my kitchen lately. If I don’t spend enough time preparing the food I eat and keeping my refrigerator and cabinets cleared of anything unusable, I don’t eat as well as I would otherwise.
So, I spent some quality time thoroughly cleaning out the frig and getting back to square one with what was there and could be used this week. The feeling of accomplishment and completion after that kind of task is one I relish. It took less than a half hour and the return on that investment of time was huge!
The concept of Primary Food™ is that career, spirituality, physical activity and relationship(s) are primary to the nourishment of our whole being, and what we put into our mouth is secondary. When I began thinking about the relationship part of Primary Food and my relationship to food itself, it was kind of an a-ha moment for me.
During the cooler months of the year I spend much more time preparing food. It makes me feel warm and cozy to have the stove and oven going and just spend time in the kitchen. The more time we spend with anyone or anything, the closer the relationship. Therefore, the more quality time I spend with my food, the better my relationship is to it.
This quality time has gone begging lately and I feel it. Just grazing on whatever is handy, even if it is healthful, doesn’t satisfy the need for really nourishing myself with food that is lovingly prepared and eaten mindfully.
Of course, one could go totally overboard with this theory. Like everything else, there has to be a balance. Hanging out in the kitchen all day, cooking and eating, would soon lead to an unhealthy relationship to food. The challenge is always balance! But when we find it, it’s so satisfying!
As I study dietary theories I am struck by how amazing Joshua Rosenthal’s idea of Primary Food™ really is. As I visit with clients, this is an area that I focus on with individuals who may be struggling with their relationship to food. I know how much this concept is benefitting me and so I am eager to share it with others.
This week, invest 30 minutes of your precious time in yourself by connecting with your food. See what’s really in your refrigerator, toss unusable items, and create something delicious with what is remaining. If you want to play that game where you tell someone the ingredients you have and they tell you what to do with them, shoot me an email! I’ll play!
Many Healthful Returns, Kay…

Positive Treatment of Prostatitis is Significant For Prostatitis Sufferers

That acute prostatitis and chronic prostatitis are found increasingly in young people has its own reason. It is conceivable that sexual function of youth is in a active stage. Characteristics of blood circulation of prostate:Arterial blood is rich, but systemic venous return has to confront with more resistance. If there are factors which can brings about repeated congestion in prostate, systemic venous return can be affected. Three aspects that should be concerned in prostatitis treatment

Get rid of psychological burdenIt is easy for us to understand that uncured prostatitis can give rise to serious psychological burden. It is said that half patients can show different mental symptoms. Those who hold the view that to live is no better than to die and have suicidal tendency account for 1% to 3%. Severe Psychological abnormal is sometimes just the causes of prostatitis, in fact, many doctors think that chronic prostatitis is a somatopsychic illness. Therefore, relieving anxiety, easing psychological burden and shift attention on physical abnormalities are much important for prostatitis recovery.

Accept systematic treatmentAs we all know, chronic prostatitis is a complicate disease which needs to be treated with certain course. Generally speaking, three month is enough. However, some patients repulse the treatment when symptoms relieve or disappear. But in fact, subjective feelings of patients differ from objective examination. Whole Food Nutrition – The Industrialization of Nutrition and the Cancer Epidemic

Most people today are concerned about getting cancer. All most everybody knows someone who has some form of cancer. Maybe even someone who has died from cancer.
The American Western medical industry deals with cancer mainly after someone has it. Works great for the insurance, hospital, pharmaceutical and other industries that make huge profits from cancer.
If people were to prevent cancer from even getting started, these cancer for profit industries would be out of business.
It is no wonder many people have come to believe that cancer just happens, its genetic, it just bad luck, the luck of the draw. Basically out of our control. The way the western medical industry deals with disease and illness including cancer, it makes it easy for people to not have to be responsible for their own health.
Changing Perceptions and Facts
More and more people today are starting to understand that this is not the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
People into natural functional medicine and the holistic natural health movement have know for years that cancer can be prevented and even cured. A lot of the natural preventative strategies, cures and remedies for many different forms of cancer have turned out to be less complicated than we might think. In fact it is often fairly simple and can cost very little.
Greed and pursuit of profit, is why the mainstream western medical and drug industries won’t tell you the truth, why they do all they can to suppress the natural therapies and strategies that are out there successfully working to prevent and to cure cancer. There isn’t the kind of profit they want in natural simple solutions, like nutrition, antioxidants, herbal therapies etc.
Unfortunately the other industry that is part of this cancer epidemic is the food manufacturing industry. The production of processed refined foods, high fructose corn syrup along with industrial meat production and farmed fish all fed nothing but GMO corn, soy and corn like substances, is causing cancer and many other diseases.
Our bodies need the correct kinds and levels of nutrition to be balanced and to function normally. Homeostasis is a term used when the body is functioning normally. When our bodies are functioning normally we don’t have illness and diseases.
When we are eating mostly foods that have been adulterated and changed so much that the food does not really nutritiously resemble its original whole natural makeup, it is impossible for our bodies to enjoy “homeostasis”..
One of the most common results of eating these kinds of foods with low or non existent nutritional value is cancer. Unfortunately it’s hard and getting harder to avoid these foods and get the levels of nutrition our bodies need to function normally, so our bodies can repel and fight cancer growth.
Eating concentrated unadulterated organic whole super foods is one way to supply our bodies with the nutrition and antioxidants we all need to be healthy and cancer free.…
