Does Toothpaste Cure Pimples?
While I am searching over the internet, I found a lot of people are asking this question – Does toothpaste cure my pimples overnight? This is an interesting question as I also heard from some of my friends that toothpaste did help cure pimples. So I did some research on the internet, as well as consulting friends with medical background. It turns out that the answer is not so straight forward.
First of all, people are asking this question because they heard this from their friends or relatives, who have tried this method before and found it somehow effective. This is true, however, only to a limited extent. To be more precise, toothpaste dries pimples, especially those bigger ones, rather than cures them.
Let’s take a closer look at toothpaste’s ingredients. Most of the toothpaste you buy from supermarkets are rich in sodium, which will dry your skin and thus your pimple. By applying toothpaste onto the pimple overnight, it make the pimples look smaller. From this perspective, it is effective and solve your skin problem especially when you have an important meeting next day.
However, toothpaste doesn’t cure your pimple. It doesn’t have any anti-bacteria ingredients that helps cure pimple. Even worse, the above-described process called dehydration is actually damaging your skin – it causes wrinkle if you apply it constantly to your face.
So the true answer to the question is NO – toothpaste doesn’t cure pimples. But it could be a temporary and quick fix for big pimples. But you should by all means avoid using it too often.
You might ask, since toothpaste is not so good, is there other options that can fix the pimples quickly?
The answer is yes. The chemical ingredient that cures pimples fast is called benzoyl peroxide, which also dries the pimple. You can look for over-the-counter creams with this ingredient and those creams often also have anti-bacteria effects which can cure pimples.
If you have a bit more time (more than three days), there is another home remedy that you can try. It’s called “Acne Free in 3 Days”, a e-book written by Chris Gibson. The system proposed by Chris is proven by thousands of consumers (including me) with guaranteed results in just 3 days. It is a simple and yet effective acne-curing system that uses purely natural ingredients which you can apply at home. I have tried it personally and found it’s effective with a long-lasting effect.
